MSI has recently introduced its latest computer case, the MAG Pano M100R PZ, which is now available for purchase in Taiwan, with retail listings also appearing on JD.com in China. Priced at approximately $100 for the US market, this innovative case combines a distinctive fish tank-style design with back plug compatibility for motherboards.
Characterized by a 270-degree glass window, the MAG Pano M100R PZ is offered in black and white color options, each equipped with four addressable RGB (ARGB) fans and a controller. The appeal of this design is evident in MSI’s promotional images, showcasing a visually striking aesthetic with color-coordinated components.
Underneath its eye-catching exterior, the MAG Pano M100R PZ incorporates practical features, notably its compatibility with back-plug motherboards from MSI and other brands. This facilitates clean builds by concealing cable clutter behind the motherboard tray. The case supports M-ATX (Back-connect supported) / ITX motherboards, with 33mm of cable management space provided.
In terms of graphics card support, the case accommodates up to 390mm GPUs, addressing concerns related to the bulk and weight of modern graphics cards. Additionally, the MAG Pano M100R PZ includes four ARGB fans (3 front, 1 back) with a fan controller, and features an easily accessible USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C connector in the front I/O section.
With dimensions of 440 x 235 x 405mm (17.32 x 9.25 x 15.94 inches), the Micro-ATX case offers ample space, contributing to its impressive compatibility figures. The case is currently available in Taiwan at TWD$3,190 (white) and TWD$2,990 (black), approximately equivalent to USD$100. Launch details and pricing for Western markets are yet to be disclosed.
This release from MSI aligns with the emerging trend of desktop PC cases resembling fish tanks, with other industry players, such as Lian Li and Hyte, also exploring similar designs. Cooler Master, foreseeing the growth trend for fish tank cases in 2024, has indicated their commitment to this direction. MSI’s early entry into this trend with the MAG Pano M100R PZ case positions them as a proactive participant in this evolving market.
